During WW2 in the Pacific , was stationed at NAS Alameda and other California NAS bases, including San Diego as Air Crewman aboard a PBM 5 with VPB 19 and VPB 98 serving with pilot Lt. Arthur Harrshbarger among others, in combat areas including Eniwetok returning to NAS Alameda near the end of the war. He helped trained pilots and crew in the use of JATO.
