Barbara died peacefully in her sleep with her children at her side, on June 4th, 2009. She was 78. Family and friends are invited to join her children and their families in a Celebration of Life to be held at Greer Family Mortuary, 2694 Blanding Ave., off Fruitvale, in Alameda on Saturday, June 27th at 1:00 pm. A reception will follow the services at the Sandpiper Complex in San Leandro off Marina Blvd., and Washington Blvd (parking is limited so park on street and walk-in). Directions will be provided at the Mortuary. Flowers are welcome, as Barbara was the quintessential Gardener. However, as a member of the “Best Friends” animal society and with the caring help of Hospice, any donation of your personal discretion is respectfully appreciated.
