Cleothis L. Wilson was born on August 1, 1932 in Arkansas. He and his family moved to Alameda when he was an infant. He attended schools in Alameda and graduated from Alameda High School.

He served in the Army National Guard and was activated into regular Army in August 1950, serving 2 years. He was then employed by the Naval Aviation Depot in Alameda as a helper, working in the same division as his father Frank. Cleo progressed through the management chain and retired as a Production Superintendent in the Engines Division, managing 600 employees. He retired in January 1988.

Of note, Cleo presented an award to his father for 40 years of service. Cleo and his father had a combined years of public service of more than 78 years.

Cleo and Melvie moved to Gardnerville, Nevada in 1993, where they enjoyed their retirement.

Cleo departed this life on March 10, 2013. He leaves behind his wife Melvie, son Cedric Wilson, daughter Yolanda Wilkerson, son-in-law Melvin Wilkerson, stepson Arroyo Lewis, and grandsons Melvin and Marcel Wilkerson.

He will be dearly missed.

A Veterans Service was held on Friday, March 15, at 1 o’clock at Eastside Cemetary in Minden Nevada.
