davis-dDavid Darwin Davis Mar. 21, 1933 – Feb. 14, 2011 Resident of Concord Dave died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones after a prolonged battle with cancer. Born and raised in Utica N.Y.

He joined the Navy in 1950 and served on the USS Badger and the USS Compton during the Korean conflict.

He married Jean E. Watson of Newport, Rhode Island in 1952. In 1964, Dave and Jean settled in Concord, CA, where they raised four of their six children.

Dave worked for the Naval Air Rework Facility at the Alameda Naval Air station until he retired in 1988.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Pleasant Hill Post 3059, The Mount Diablo Metal Detectors Club and the Walnut Creek Friends Church. Dave was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Jean; sons Ron (Kimberly) of Walnut Creek, Kevin (Marti) of Concord, Richard (Kazuyo) of Hawthorne, CA, and daughter Kathleen Davis of Walnut Creek; grandchildren Leesha, Andrea, Ronnie, Cody, Kristopher, Clayton, Kiron, Brian, Justin and Alex. Preceded in death by his children Steven and Caroline.
